c/o the Maidstone Keeping It Green

The folks at c/o the Maidstone and its Living Room restaurant in East Hampton Village sent round word about some of their ecologically conscious initiatives, including the use of recycled and organic products and a propertywide avoidance of water in disposable plastic bottles. Instead, the bar and restaurant water comes from a filtration system. Water in the rooms is provided in refillable glass, and 5 percent of bottle sales goes to the Peconic Land Trust. Overnight guests can bring their own containers and fill up at no charge.

The hotel recently renovated, insulating attics, floors, and windows, which decreases need for air-conditioning. It also has provided two Tesla electric-vehicle charging stations.
