Shattered in Montauk

    Shattered Glass, a conductor-less string ensemble dedicated to reimagining the concert experience, will perform as part of the Music for Montauk series on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Montauk School. The performers, who met while attending the Manhattan School of Music, are a collection of talent from around the world, with members representing Russia, Venezuela, Korea, China, Taiwan, and cities across the United States. Members have performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and Merkin Hall, and as soloists with the Korean KBS Symphony Orchestra, Sofia Symphony Orchestra, and the New Jersey Philharmonic.

    The program will include Vivaldi’s Concerto for three violins in F major, Bach’s Ricercar a 6, Penderecki’s Sinfonietta Per Archi, and Felix Mendelssohn’s String Symphony no. 7 in D minor.

    A memorial for Ruth Widder, the founder of Music for Montauk, who died in February, will follow the performance.
