Fright Night
Guild Hall will celebrate Halloween with "Stage Fright," a program of four scary short stories across seven live performances starting tonight at 7 and 9. A company of four costumed actors -- Josh Gladstone, Kate Mueth, Vanessa Walters, and Trevor Vaughn -- will read the tales from the stage of Guild Hall's backyard theater. Directed by Mr. Gladstone and written by Septimus Dale, B.C. Bridges, Richard Matheson, and Neil Gaiman, the stories will be complemented by "eerie sound, mystifying lights, and haunting projections," according to a release.

Subsequent performances will take place tomorrow evening at 7 and 9 and Saturday at 6:30, 8, and 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $45 per lawn circle, each of which seats one to two people. Beach chairs and blankets have been recommended.

Double Trouble     
The Southampton Arts Center is offering a two-part Freaky Friday outdoor film program starting tomorrow evening at 6 with "The Nightmare Before Christmas." Tim Burton's stop-action animated dark fantasy is about a plot by the king of Halloweentown to take over Christmastown, kidnap Santa, and play the role of St. Nick. Roger Ebert praised the movie's "offbeat, subversive energy."     

Tickets are $10, $5 for children and members, and include admission to the 1989 version of "Pet Sematary," which will be shown at 8 p.m. Based on the 1983 Stephen King novel of the same name, it follows a city family that moves to rural Maine, unknowingly buying a plot of land that includes an Indian burial ground. Tragic twists ensue in what Variety called a "reanimated-animals chiller." Guests have been advised to take chairs and blankets.

Bracco's Reno
Lorraine Bracco, who announced last year that she had a bought a house in Sicily for one euro and would renovate it for a television show, has finished the series, which is titled "My Big Italian Adventure," for HGTV. It will premiere tomorrow on the channel.

Ms. Bracco, a Bridgehampton resident and actress famous for her roles in "Goodfellas" and "The Sopranos," told The Star in July of 2019 that she had bought the property sight unseen. Such arrangements have been made with towns in Italy to bring them new life. The houses must be restored within three years of the purchase, according to the conditions of sale.

People magazine, which previewed the first episode, said Sambuca di Sicilia, the town in which she bought the property, "appears to be a dream come true," until the deteriorated walls, floors, and roof of the house become evident. The site also had no electricity or running water. 

The show follows Ms. Bracco's adventures from hovel to haven on Fridays at 9 p.m.

Audition Workshop     
Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor has announced an in-person on-camera audition workshop that will take place on Nov. 7, a Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at LTV Studios in Wainscott. Led by Meghan Rafferty, a casting director who works in New York City, the class will focus on the on-camera audition process for both film and television, as adapted for the current pandemic, when many auditions and productions are taking place online.     

Ms. Rafferty will provide feedback on each scene and offer an insider's advice on the business, including how best to send an audition tape to casting directors. Participants will be given their prepared lines in advance of the workshop, which is open to anybody age 13 and up. Tickets are $175, and registration is on the Bay Street website.
