Sager and Zacks in Springs

“Two Artists — Two Visions,” an exhibition of photographs by Anne Sager and paintings by Lewis Zacks, will be on view at Ashawagh Hall in Springs on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 to 5. A reception will be held on Saturday from 4 to 8.

Originally a painter, Ms. Sager studied with Lisette Model and Philippe Halsman, and worked as an assistant to Alfred Eisenstaedt. The photographs in the show range from representational to abstraction, and topics include women over 50, nature, architecture, and images from her travels.

Mr. Zacks’s love of history inspired him to focus in his paintings on the disappearing landscape of the East End, including old barns, fishing boats, colonial cottages, luncheonettes, the sea, and, perhaps his best-known image, the Sag Harbor Cinema sign.

Proceeds from the exhibition, which has been organized by Arlene Bujese and Fran Castan, will benefit the Retreat, East End Hospice, the East End Special Players, and the Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreational Center.

Positivity at White Room

“All the Places We Go,” a juried exhibition of work by more than 40 artists, will be on view at the White Room Gallery in Bridgehampton from tomorrow through April 5, with a reception set for Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m.

The artists responded to a call for artworks that expressed a positive spirit of exploration, either literally or metaphorically. “With all the negative places the world has gone of late, it’s nice to celebrate the positive,” said Andrea McCafferty and Kat O’Neill, the gallery’s co-directors.

At MOCA LI

“Consummate Plush,” a group exhibition that takes its name from an Emily Dickinson poem, will open at the Museum of Contemporary Art Long Island in Patchogue with a reception on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. and continue through April 19.

“Fueled by Dickinson’s expansive intuition, veracity, and her elastic use of language, the exhibition will explore identity, abstraction, and the phenomenological nature of vision,” said Janet Goleas, an artist and curator who organized the show.

The participating artists are Virva Hinnemo, Laurie Lambrecht, Christa Maiwald, Linda Miller, George Negroponte, Judith Page, Bonnie Rychlak, Daniel Weiner, Lucy Winton, and Charles Yuen.
