Guild Hall will wrap up its summer season with a concert of country music classics by Teddy Thompson and Jenni Muldaur, two staged readings of a new full-length comedy by Joy Behar, and a silent dance party in its backyard theater.
Mr. Thompson and Ms. Muldaur were raised on music, he as the son of the British folk-rockers Richard and Linda Thompson, she the daughter of the folk icons Geoff and Maria Muldaur. They spent the last few months recording classic duets of such country legends as Dolly Parton and Porter Wagoner, George Jones and Tammy Wynette, and Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn.
The program, which will feature those songs and more, will take place next Thursday at 7 p.m. Tickets are $100; $150 adds a post-show meeting with the artists and a vinyl 45 recording.
While perhaps best known as the Emmy Award-winning co-host of “The View,” Ms. Behar has performed stand-up comedy for 30 years, appeared in films and on television, and recently wrote “The Great Gasbag: An A to Z Guide to Surviving Trump World.”
Guild Hall will present the premiere of “Crisis in Queens” on Friday, Sept. 3, and Sept. 4, at 8 p.m. The comedy is about an unhappy 40-something woman, who, in blaming her husband for her life’s failures, sets off a chain of unpredictable events.
Directed by John Gould Rubin, the production stars Steven Weber, Irene Sofia Lucio, Brenda Vaccaro, Catherine Curtin, Dave Quay, and Annabella Sciorra. Tickets are $100.
D.J.s from Quiet Events Silent Disco will spin songs from the 1970s to the present for the dance party, which will take place on Sept. 5 from 8 to 11 p.m. A projected installation by the artist Christine Sciulli will light up the building. Headsets are $10, $5 for members, and can be reserved in advance online.
