There will be no post-summer slowdown at Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor. "A Passion for Giving," a documentary by Robin Baker Leacock about the importance of compassion and the desire to help others, will be shown Friday at 7 p.m. Ms. Leacock will introduce the film, which includes interviews with philanthropists both famous and unheralded.

The screening will be followed by a panel with Missy Hargreaves, the actress and animal activist, and the philanthropists Jean Shafiroff, a writer, and Henry Buhl, founder of ACE Programs for the Homeless. Tickets are $20.

The Long Island Comedy Festival will bring a lineup of top comedians, including Marla Schultz and John Ziegler, to the theater on Saturday evening at 8. Ms. Schultz has been a regular at Caroline's on Broadway, Stand-Up New York, Gotham Comedy Club, and many others, and has been featured on the Oxygen Network, TNT, E!, and Sirius XM. Mr. Ziegler has performed with Gilbert Gottfried, Robert Klein, and Jim Breuer, and won the Funniest Comic on the East Coast contest at Mohegan Sun in 2016.

Tickets are $35.

Three workshops for adults are on the horizon. Just for Laughs Improv!, an eight-session workshop with Scott Baker, will launch on Monday evening from 7 to 9 and continue weekly through Nov. 14. The cost is $200.

Alphonso Triggiani, the artistic director of Touch Dancing, will return to Bay Street for Ballroom Dancing lessons, starting Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. and continuing for eight sessions through Nov. 15. The fee is $200; drop-in classes are $30.

Meghan Rafferty, a New York-based actor and casting director, is another familiar face at Bay Street. She will lead an on-camera acting class for six sessions from Oct. 1 through Nov. 5 at 10 a.m. Open to those ages 16 and up, the workshop costs $300.
