The Summer Music Series at the Arts Center at Duck Creek in Springs will wrap up its season with a performance by Thumbscrew on Saturday at 5 p.m. The trio came about by accident when the bassist Michael Formanek substituted in a band that included Mary Halvorson on guitar and Tomas Fujiwara on drums. They clicked, and Thumbscrew was born.

Winner of a 2019 MacArthur Fellowship, Ms. Halvorson was celebrated as a guitarist, rising star jazz artist, and rising star composer of the year in recent Downbeat Critics Polls. Mr. Formanek has been an important figure in the New York City's jazz scene since the 1990s. Mr. Fujiwara has performed at festivals and venues across North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.

Advance registration on the venue's website has been recommended.
