Bay Street's lecture series, "New Perspectives," will launch next Thursday at 7 p.m. with "Hidden Cosmopolitanism of the Arab World," a two-part talk by Ken Dorph focused on Arab diversity and evolving views on religious minorities and gender.
Mr. Dorph, who lives in Sag Harbor, is a financial consultant who has worked extensively in the Arab world. Fluent in Arabic, he has an M.A. in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Michigan and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School. He was awarded a Fulbright fellowship for study in Damascus.
The second lecture is set for April 27, also at 7. Each talk will be followed by a discussion and reception in the theater's lobby. Tickets are available for a suggested donation of $20.
