Historical Hamptons
William Garrett Howard was a photographer who lived in Sag Harbor for 34 years before his death in 1915. "Hamptons: 1887-1915," a collection of Howard's photographs of the region, is now available in a limited edition from Black Swan Antiques in Sag Harbor.
Black Swan will celebrate the release of the large-format volume with a reception on Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. A selection of limited-edition prints by Howard will also be on view.
The 200 black-and-white images have been selected from a trove of glass plate negatives recently found in a barn in Sag Harbor. The photographs include East Hampton's Main Street before it was paved, six Sag Harbor hunters with their prey, and a windmill on Shinnecock Road in Southampton.

Music in Sag
Derrick Davis, who starred as Coalhouse in Bay Street Theater's 2022 production of "Ragtime: The Musical," is up first in the theater's "Music Mondays" series, which invites artists to perform and share stories of their time on and off the stage.
Mr. Davis played The Phantom in the 25th Anniversary Tour of "The Phantom of the Opera," and was Billy Bigelow on Broadway in "Carousel" and Scar and Mufasa in "The Lion King." His television credits include the role of Derek in ABC's "Dangerous Liaisons." His concert career has taken him to Scotland, Wales, England, Italy, South Korea, and Canada, as well as across the United States.
The show will begin on Monday at 8; tickets start at $39.95.
Future performers are Julie Benko (July 17), Isaac Mizrahi (Aug. 7), Melissa Errico (Aug. 21), and the Charles McPherson Quartet featuring Randy Brecker (Aug. 28).
Shoot First, Then Laugh
In conjunction with its current exhibition of photographs by Harry Benson, the Southampton Arts Center will host a free screening of "Harry Benson: Shoot First," a 2016 documentary by Justin Bare and Matthew Miele about the renowned Scottish photographer, on Friday at 6 p.m.
The film draws not only from six decades of photographs of notables, ranging from Winston Churchill to the Beatles to Greta Garbo to Muhammed Ali, but also from extensive interviews with friends, fellow photographers, subjects, and Mr. Benson himself, who, said the filmmakers, proved to be "a provocative storyteller and witty raconteur."
Comedy will be on tap at the arts center with "Live: Kip and Sylvia -- Tonight on D-Deck," a musical by Tom Leopold set for Saturday evening at 7. Ilene Kristen and Mr. Leopold star as Kip and Sylvia Glasscock, who hold forth in the showroom of an ill-fated Italian cruise ship, the Concordia. As the Glasscocks, they regale the audience with "their failed show tunes and uproarious stories from their unhappily married life," according to a release.
Tickets are $50, $40 for members, with V.I.P. tickets priced at $75 and $65.
Fashion and Festivity
Mary Jane Marcasiano, a fashion designer who has received the Cartier, DuPont, Cutty Sark, and Wool Knit awards, will be at The Church in Sag Harbor on Friday at 6 p.m. as part of its Knowledge Friday series.
While she established her design company in 1977 and showed her first collection two years later, Ms. Marcasiano now focuses on costumes for dance, film, and theater. She also created, in 2007, the Made With Love project, which is dedicated to supporting women's crafts and children's aid programs in Brazil and Africa.
Tickets are $10, free for members, with pre-registration required.
Also at The Church, a dance party led by D.J. Mister Lama will happen on Saturday from 7 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $20, $15 for members. Concessions will be sold from 7:30 to 9, and a non-alcoholic spirit bar featuring Aplos will be available.
