Bobby Collins, who has performed with Chris Rock, Ray Romano, and Drew Carey, will bring his comedic talents to Sag Harbor’s Bay Street Theater on Sunday at 7 p.m.

Early in his career, while performing in comedy clubs at night, Mr. Collins worked as a high school history teacher and in the high-fashion industry, where, in the 1980s, he became a vice president at Calvin Klein. He left that world to pursue comedy full time and has never looked back.

He has opened for Frank Sinatra, Cher, Tony Bennett, and Dolly Parton, appeared on “The Tonight Show” with both Jay Leno and Jimmy Fallon, and performed at the White House for Chelsea Clinton on her birthday. At Rosie O’Donnell’s request, he succeeded her as the host of “Standup Spotlight,” a VH1 comedy television series.

Tickets are $69.99 to $89.99.

Speaking of comedy, the theater will launch two new workshops this week, starting with Think You’re Funny?, a comedy class with Paul Anthony, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Combining class instruction with hands-on exercises and student participation, the workshop will continue on Tuesdays through Nov. 19 and culminate, on Nov. 26, with a graduation comedy show at the theater in front of a live audience. The cost is $300.

Acting for Real: Scene Study, On-Camera, Audition Prep, is open for actors of every level ages 18 and up, and will kick off Wednesday at 6:30 and continue weekly through Nov. 20.

Taught by Noelle Parker, who has acted alongside Sean Penn, Blythe Danner, and Sarah Jessica Parker, and played the title role in NBC’s “The Amy Fisher Story,” the classes will include a physical warmup, scene study and performance, and two sessions devoted to on-camera auditions. The fee is $350.

The Sweet Smell of Nostalgia at Sagaponack General

Stepping into the new Sagaponack General Store, which reopened yesterday after being closed since 2020, is a sweet experience, and not just because there’s a soft-serve ice cream station on the left and what promises to be the biggest penny candy selection on the South Fork on your right, but because it’s like seeing an old friend who, after some struggle, made it big. Really, really big.
