Screenwriters Lab
HamptonsFilm is now accepting applications for its 25th annual Screenwriters Lab, which will take place April 4 through April 6. Held each spring, the lab pairs selected fellows with established writers and creative producers for a weekend of one-on-one mentorship. Over the course of the weekend, film industry veterans advise the participating fellows on their feature-length projects in a series of individual and group development sessions.

The regular deadline is Dec. 5, the late deadline Dec. 19, and the extended deadline Jan. 16. More information and a submission link can be found at filmfreeway.com/HamptonsFilmScreenwritersLab.

Award-Winning Drama
The National Theatre Live series will return to Guild Hall Friday evening at 7 with "Prima Facie," which was captured live during its premiere engagement in 2022 at the Harold Pinter Theatre in London's West End.

The one-woman play, written by Suzie Miller and directed by Justin Martin, stars Jodie Comer as Tessa, a brilliant young barrister who has worked her way up from working-class origins. An unexpected event forces her to confront the lines where the patriarchal power of the law, burden of proof, and morals diverge.

Ms. Comer won an Olivier Award for her London performance and a Tony for her 2023 performance on Broadway.

Tickets are $20, $18 for members.

Loungers at LTV
The HooDoo Loungers, a nine-piece band whose music is inspired by the sounds and spirit of New Orleans, are up next on Saturday evening at 7:30 in the East End Underground Live Concert Series at LTV Studios in Wainscott.

Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door, and $65 for cafe table seating.

Music at the Temple
The Glam Jam returns to the inner sanctum of Sag Harbor's Masonic Temple Thursday from 7 to 9. Walk-in musicians have been advised to arrive early to sign up to join the jam. Admission is a can of nonperishable food, which will be donated to local food pantries.

The temple's music series will present a performance by Jake Lear on Saturday at 8 p.m. Mr. Lear, who grew up with the music of John Lee Hooker, Jimi Hendrix, and Howlin' Wolf, is dedicated to the blues. Elmore magazine called his album "Lost Time Blues" "the perfect marriage of 'Highway 61 Revisited' and 'Texas Flood.' "

Tickets are $20.

Jazz in Sagg
A jazz concert by the Watrous Mele Ornig Trio will take place at the Sagaponack Farm Distillery on Saturday from 5 to 7 PM. The group consists of Peter Watrous, a guitarist and former New York Times music critic; Jon Mele, a drummer, and Iris Ornig, a bassist and founder and director of East End Jazz. The trio will explore the works of such iconic figures as Thelonious Monk, Paul Motion, Charlie Parker, and others.

The Sweet Smell of Nostalgia at Sagaponack General

Stepping into the new Sagaponack General Store, which reopened yesterday after being closed since 2020, is a sweet experience, and not just because there’s a soft-serve ice cream station on the left and what promises to be the biggest penny candy selection on the South Fork on your right, but because it’s like seeing an old friend who, after some struggle, made it big. Really, really big.
