LongHouse at Night
Starting Friday and continuing on Friday and Saturday evenings through Jan. 11, LongHouse Reserve in East Hampton will be open from 4:30 until 7:30 so visitors can enjoy glowing sculptures, light-lined garden paths, and the Neo-Political Cowgirls' theatrical adventure "Zima!"

Directed and produced by Kate Mueth, the Cowgirls' founder and artistic director, "Zima!" consists of nine whimsical vignettes of dance, theater, and folklore that are encountered along the pathways. The walk lasts approximately 30 minutes, and ends at LongHouse's Holiday Artisan Market, which features gifts, culinary treats, and creative activities by the Shine Studio.

Admission is by timed tickets at 4:30, 5:30, or 6:30. Available on LongHouse's website, tickets cost $45, $35 for members, $15 for students with ID, and are free for children under 12.

Schubert at Church
The Reflections in Music series returns to The Church in Sag Harbor with a performance of "Winterreise," Franz Schubert's song cycle, by Matthew Rose next Thursday at 6 p.m. The series is an effort to expand classical music's reach and make it new for traditional audiences.

"Winterreise" is a cycle of 24 songs for male voice and piano composed in 1827 by Schubert, with words by the German poet Wilhelm Muller. The poetry is written in the voice of a young man who, upon seeing his beloved marry another, sets out on foot in the deepest winter to escape memories of her.

A bass, Mr. Rose's many international performances have included more than 100 with the Metropolitan Opera. He will be accompanied on piano by Benedicte Jourdois, a member of the Met's music staff who teaches at the Juilliard School.

Tickets are $30.

Comedy Club
The Sticks and Stones Comedy Club returns to the Southampton Cultural Center Friday at 7 p.m. with a comedy lineup headed by Vishnu Vaka, an American stand-up comedian originally from India.

Now on the road with his "Self Driven" tour, he has opened for Russell Peters and appeared on the "In Godfrey We Trust" podcast and the movie "Liquor Run," now streaming on Tubi and Amazon Prime. Mr. Vaka will be joined by Bridget Kavanagh, Rob White, Kathy Arnold, and Joe Winchell.

Tickets are $35, $50 for reserved seating, $70 for top tier.

The Sweet Smell of Nostalgia at Sagaponack General

Stepping into the new Sagaponack General Store, which reopened yesterday after being closed since 2020, is a sweet experience, and not just because there’s a soft-serve ice cream station on the left and what promises to be the biggest penny candy selection on the South Fork on your right, but because it’s like seeing an old friend who, after some struggle, made it big. Really, really big.
