Classic Soul
The HooDoo Loungers and their guests the Belle Curves will bring "An Evening of Classic Soul" to Sag Harbor's Bay Street Theater on Saturday at 8 p.m.

While the Loungers bill themselves as a New Orleans party band, they are no strangers to soul, having sold out their "Queen of Soul: Tribute to Aretha Franklin" as part of the Sag Harbor American Music Festival. For Saturday's show, the band will take a deep dive into the roots of 1960s and '70s classic soul.

The Loungers are Joe Lauro, bass/vocals, Dawnette Darden, vocals, Dan Koontz, keyboards/vocals, Doug Dean, drums, Eric Kay, tenor sax/clarinet, Eric Miller, trombone, and Peter Aricchio, trumpet.

Led by Delaney Hafener, the Belle Curves are a rotating cast of musicians whose sound is inspired by the traditions of Americana.

Tickets are $37; $47 the day of the show.

At the Talkhouse
The weekend at the Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett starts Friday night at 8 with a performance by Brad Penuel and his Friday Night Traditional. Accompanied by musician friends, Mr. Penuel performs songs that draw on his Alabama roots. Tickets are $30.

The Nancy Atlas Project, the East End band that has opened for everyone from Elvis Costello to Lucinda Williams to Jimmy Buffet, will take the Talkhouse stage on Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $35.

Conga Cartel, a seven-piece band that blends the complex rhythms and Latin influences of South America with a fusion of funk and dance music, will perform at the Talkhouse on Saturday night at 10. Tickets are $10.

Art and Music at the Temple
An exhibition of artwork by Edward Cortes, a self-taught artist, will be on view at the Sag Harbor Masonic Club during Saturday evening's 8 p.m. performance by the Roses Grove Band, a Grateful Dead tribute band. The lodge will be open at 7 and by appointment for those wishing to view the exhibit.

"World of Music, Part 2," this week's Tuesday night Jam Session program at the Masonic Club, will happen there from 7 to 9. The lineup features Bobby Franceschini on saxophone, Bill O'Connell on piano, Santi Debriano on bass, and Claes Brondal on drums.

Admission to both performances is $20, which supports local charities.

Sense and Stompers
Riverhead's Suffolk Theater will rock with the music of Talking Heads, David Byrne, and more, on Friday at 8 p.m., thanks to Start Making Sense and the Ocean Avenue Stompers.

Start Making Sense is a seven to 10 piece band, fronted by Jon Braun, that pays tribute to the music of Talking Heads' entire career and David Byrne's solo material. The Ocean Avenue Stompers are a New Orleans-influenced brass band partial to the sounds of Jersey Shore rock and Philadelphia soul.

Tickets are $39 to $59.

A Renewed Focus on Fresh Fish

Dock to Dish, a restaurant-supported fishery cooperative founded in Montauk in 2012, has new owners and a renewed focus on getting fresh-from-the-boat seafood directly into the kitchens of restaurants across the East End and the New York area. And the fact that most of the owners are also fishermen doesn’t hurt.
