Double Jam
The next show in the Jam Session concert series at the Masonic Temple in Sag Harbor, set for Tuesday at 7 p.m., is "Jazz Is a Universal Language." The musicians are Yuma Uesaka on saxophone, Benito Gonzalez on piano, Michael O'Brien on bass, and Claes Brondal on drums. The $20 admission fee supports local charities.
The Glam Jam, which invites musicians to play with others on the second Thursday of each month, will return to the temple next Thursday evening at 7. The event will be hosted by Ur Mom, whose members are Holly Li, Christine Sciulli, Francine Fleischer, Christina Sun, and Almond Zigmund. Admission is a can of food for donation.
At the Talkhouse
In 1987, when the Stephen Talkhouse changed to its current ownership, Klyph Black was one of the first acts to play there. Over the years, Mr. Black has shared the Talkhouse stage with Bo Diddley, Levon Helm, and Rick Danko, among others. He will be performing there, with friends, Friday at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25.
The Long Island Rhythm Experience, which specializes in creating remixes, medleys, and original arrangements of popular songs across a range of eras and genres, will take the stage ton Friday at 10. Admission is $10.
12X, a cover band formed in 2009 that draws from today's Top 40 and the best rock, hip-hop, and rap from the '90s, will perform on Saturday evening at 10. Tickets cost $10.
Swing, Metal, Billy Joel
The Jive Aces, whose repertory ranges from the swing era to the glitz of the Rat Pack, will be at the Suffolk Theater in Riverhead on Friday at 8 p.m. with songs made famous by Louis Prima, Cab Calloway, Benny Goodman, Bobby Darin, Sammy Davis Jr., and others. Tickets are $65 to $79.
The music of the arena rock band Def Leppard will be recreated by Adrenalize on Saturday evening at 8. The show will include such hits as "Foolin'," "Rock of Ages," and "Love Bites," as well as some deep cuts. Tickets range from $39 to $49.
The Lords of 52nd Street will return to the Suffolk on Sunday at 7 p.m. Who better to bring the music of Billy Joel to Riverhead than the Lords, whose members recorded and toured with the Piano Man for over a decade? Tickets are $49 to $65.
