A Busy Talkhouse
Paying homage to the Allman Brothers, the Grateful Dead, Derek and the Dominos, and others, Big Karma will bring the golden age of rock-and-roll to the Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett tonight at 8. Admission is $20.
The Cherry Bombs, a mostly female, New York City and East Hampton-based band, will play 1980s new wave, rock, and pop hits at the Talkhouse tomorrow night at 8. Tickets are $20. And for those marooned in the city, the band will perform at the Cutting Room in Manhattan on Saturday at 8:30. Admission is $20 plus a $25 food and beverage minimum per person.
The Memberberries, a pop-rock cover band focused on songs of the 1990s and aughts, will follow the Cherry Bombs at 10 p.m. tomorrow. Tickets are $15.
Something different is on tap for Saturday at 5:30 p.m., when “Unstoppable, the Musical,” a gritty show born on the streets of the South Bronx, follows three families as they travel a difficult path and find solace in a transformative music program. The show is a benefit for Haven Kids Rock, a music program that empowers underserved youth who have been victims of trauma, abuse, or neglect. Tickets are $29.23.
Four Way Street, performing the best of Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, will be at the Talkhouse on Saturday at 8 p.m. The band’s harmonies are built around three vocalists, each of whom brings meticulous attention to detail. Admission is $40.
Conga Cartel will top off the weekend on Saturday night at 10 when the seven-piece band merges the complex rhythms and Latin influences of South America with a modern fusion of funk and commercial dance music. Tickets are $15.
Queen, Herman’s Hermits
The Suffolk Theater in Riverhead will start the weekend early with the Ultimate Queen Celebration tonight at 8. The band features Yvan Pedneault and MiG Ayesa on vocals, backed by musicians who have toured with Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Rock of Ages, and Cher. Tickets are $45 to $75.
Herman’s Hermits, starring one of the band’s founding members, Peter Noone, will take the stage tomorrow at 8 p.m. with such hits as “I’m Into Something Good,” “Mrs. Brown, You’ve Got a Lovely Daughter,” “I’m Henry VIII, I Am,” and others from one of the most successful of the British invaders. Tickets range from $59 to $99.
Frontiers covers all the hits of Journey, and the five-piece band will do so at the Suffolk on Saturday evening at 8. The set list is sure to include “Don’t Stop Believin’,” “Who’s Crying Now,” “Open Arms,” and “Any Way You Want It.” The price range is $45 to $55.
The theater is hosting a “Mamma Mia!” brunch on Sunday morning that will include a buffet at 11 of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, quiche, pancakes, waffles, fruit salad, bagels, and croissants, and a screening of the film at noon. Tickets, which include the buffet and screening but not drinks, are $60.
Jamming at the Temple
The Glam Jam returns to the inner sanctum of Sag Harbor’s Masonic Temple tonight from 7 to 9. The evening is hosted by the band Ur Mom, whose members are Holly Li, Christine Sciulli, Francine Fleischer, Christina Sun, and Almond Zigmund. Other walk-in musicians will be joining the jam.
Admission is a can of nonperishable food, which will be donated to the Sag Harbor Food Pantry.
