LTV’s Summer Songbook by the Sea series will return to its Wainscott studios on Saturday at 7:30 p.m., with a performance by Karen Akers in “Water Under the Bridge,” with musical direction by Alex Rybeck.

Ms. Akers’s career encompasses cabaret, musical theater, television, and film. She has appeared at such notable venues as Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, the Cafe Carlyle, and the Oak Room at the Algonquin Hotel, as well as in France, Russia, Spain, and London.

She made her Broadway debut in the original production of Tommy Tune’s “Nine,” for which she received a Tony nomination. Her film credits include Mike Nichols’s “Heartburn” and Woody Allen’s “The Purple Rose of Cairo.”

Of her recent performance of “Water Under the Bridge” to a sold-out house at Manhattan’s Birdland, Wendy-Lane Bailey said, “She is effortlessly elegant and perfectly at home as she performs an eclectic set of songs that she calls ‘a musical journal of sorts.’ ” The program touches on many people and events that have informed her life.

Tickets are $50 in advance, $55 at the door, $80 for cafe table seating.

Corky Laing, the Canadian drummer for the rock bands Mountain (1969-2019) and West, Bruce, and Laing (1972-1975), has recorded with Mick Jagger, Eric Clapton, and John Lennon, jammed with Jimi Hendrix and the Band, and written songs with Keith Richards and Ian Hunter.

Mr. Laing will be at LTV Studios on Wednesday at 8 p.m. with Peter Baron, guitar and vocals, Joe Nerve, bass, and Ken Sidotti, keyboards, to perform, in its entirety, “Nantucket Sleighride,” Mountain’s second studio album, as well as other hits from Mr. Laing’s career.

The last surviving member of both bands, he co-wrote many of their greatest hits, among them “Mississippi Queen,” “Why Dontcha,” and “For Yasgur’s Farm.” A noted raconteur, he hosted his own radio show in Canada, and will punctuate his  music with anecdotes from his long career.

Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door, $65 for cafe table seating.

The Sweet Smell of Nostalgia at Sagaponack General

Stepping into the new Sagaponack General Store, which reopened yesterday after being closed since 2020, is a sweet experience, and not just because there’s a soft-serve ice cream station on the left and what promises to be the biggest penny candy selection on the South Fork on your right, but because it’s like seeing an old friend who, after some struggle, made it big. Really, really big.
