Artists on Their Work

“East End Collected 8,” a show of paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, photography, video, and glass fusion by 28 East End artists, is at the Southampton Arts Center through May 4.

Participants include Isabella Rupp, Samuel Havens, Richard Mothes, Aurelio Torres, Georgia Suter, and Amy Zerner, all of whom will be on hand to talk about their work on Saturday at 3 p.m. The show’s curators, Paton Miller and Christina Strassfield, will moderate the discussion, which is free.

Stepping into the new Sagaponack General Store, which reopened yesterday after being closed since 2020, is a sweet experience, and not just because there’s a soft-serve ice cream station on the left and what promises to be the biggest penny candy selection on the South Fork on your right, but because it’s like seeing an old friend who, after some struggle, made it big. Really, really big.
