Prince Tribute

Kissed by a Prince, a tribute band of local musicians, will bring the music of Prince to Sag Harbor’s Bay Street Theater on Saturday at 8 p.m. “All of the performers have been inspired by, and have performed, Prince’s music for decades,” said Mike Mazzaraco, the group’s guitarist.

The other band members are Carolina Kohn, a vocalist, and Bill Smith, both from Conga Cartel; Kevin Santacroce on drums, Al Buonanno on bass, and Paul Giannini, a percussionist from Booga Sugar.

Tickets are $42 to $54.

Adapting a Thriller

Premiering on Amazon Prime Video next month is “The Better Sister,” a limited-series thriller starring Jessica Biel and Elizabeth Banks and adapted from the 2019 novel of the same name by Alafair Burke, the best-selling author of 15 crime novels.

As part of Hamptons Whodunit, Ms. Burke will be at Guild Hall Friday at 6 p.m., along with Olivia Milch and Regina Corrado, the co-showrunners of the series, to talk about how the novel was adapted for the screen. Chloe Melas, an NBC News entertainment correspondent, will moderate the discussion.

Doors will open at 5. Refreshments can be bought before, during, and after the program from Louise & Howie’s Coffee Bar in the lobby.

Tickets, including a Friday panels day pass, can be accessed at eventbrite.com.

Camellias and Natives

The Jim Jeffrey Camellia Group of the Horticultural Alliance of the Hamptons will meet on Saturday morning at 10 at the Bridgehampton Community House. The meeting is free and open to anyone, and attendees have been encouraged to take their own blossoms and questions. The group includes members who are experienced in growing camellias and others new to the cultivation of camellias.

Sam Hoadley, the manager of horticultural research at Mt. Cuba Center, a botanical garden in Hockessin, Del., will be at the community house on Sunday at 2 p.m. Mr. Hoadley, who evaluates native plant species, old and new cultivars, and hybrids in the center’s Trial Garden, will focus on “knockout” native species and cultivars from the venue’s trials.

The talk is free for members, $10 for nonmembers.

Submissions Open

Hamptons Doc Fest has announced that submissions for its 18th iteration are now open via FilmFreeway. The early deadline is May 1, the regular deadline is June 10, and July 1 is the late deadline.

Notifications will be sent out on Oct. 1. The festival will be held from Dec. 4 through Dec. 10.
