A Night of Blues
“Blues Fest,” a 7 p.m. concert on Saturday featuring Kerry Kearney, Jack’s Waterfall, Mama Lee Rose and Friends, and Jake Lear, among others, is up next in LTV Studio’s Underground Live Concert Series.
Mr. Kearney, who is known for his upbeat mix of American blues and roots music, has toured with the Allman Brothers Band and Dickey Betts, among others.
Jack’s Waterfall, led by Jack Licitra, plays a unique style of New Orleans blues and piano music, typified by its album “American Roots Project II” (2023), a tribute to Dr. John (Mac Rebennack).
Mama Lee Lawler has been entertaining East End audiences for more than 50 years. She will be joined at LTV by Bosco Michne, Klyph Black, Al Buonanno, and Joe Delia.
Elmore magazine called Mr. Lear’s album “Lost Time Blues” “the perfect marriage of ‘Highway 61 Revisited’ and ‘Texas Flood.’ ”
Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door, $15 for students and senior citizens, and $50 for cafe table seating, which includes a drink ticket.
Piano Concert
Clayton Stephenson, an award-winning American pianist, will perform a solo concert in the Liliane Questel Recital Series at the Southampton Cultural Center on Saturday at 6 p.m.
The first Black finalist at the 2022 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, Mr. Stephenson has performed at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris, Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, and the United Nations General Assembly Hall. His program includes compositions by Franz Schubert, Igor Stravinsky, Harold Arlen and Keith Jarrett, and George Gershwin. Tickets are $28.22, including fees.
‘The Bonackers’ on TV
“The Bonackers,” Joanne Friedland Roberts’s documentary about the men and women who have fished and farmed the East End for almost 400 years, was screened for a sold-out audience at LTV Studios in December.
For those who missed it, it will be shown in celebration of Earth Week on WLIW-Channel 21, next Thursday at 8 p.m. The one-hour film will be followed by a 30-minute interview with Ms. Roberts by Hari Sreenivasan, a “PBS NewsHour anchor.”
Jazz Night
Jazz Night at Sag Harbor’s Masonic Temple, from the Jam Session, will return Friday night at 7 with “Electrifying and Unpredictable Musical Journey,” a concert featuring James Doc Halliday on tenor sax, Steve Sandberg on piano, Santi Debriano on acoustic bass, and Claes Brondal on drums.
When doors open at 6:30, guests can buy South Indian vegetarian food from Tapovana Lunch Box to enjoy during the program. The menu includes rice dishes, lentil stews, spiced vegetable curries, and fresh chutneys.
The cost of a box is $20; plastic utensils will be available. Admission is $20, free for students.
Acting Workshop
The Boots on the Ground Theater has announced a weeklong acting workshop for adults (18 and older) that will be led by Victor Slezak, a veteran stage, screen, and television actor, from April 28 through May 2. The registration deadline is Wednesday.
Mr. Slezak’s credits include the films “The Bridges of Madison County” (1995), “Beyond Rangoon” (1995), “The Devil’s Own” (1997), “The Siege” (1998), and “The Cat’s Meow” (2001). On Broadway, he starred as John F. Kennedy, opposite Margaret Colin, in “Jackie: An American Life.”
