Gucci, the iconic international fashion brand that needs little else by way of introduction, is opening a new storefront Friday at 17 Newtown Lane in East Hampton Village. After previous retail partnerships and pop-ups in Montauk, East Hampton, and other nearby places over the last few years, the company said in an announcement this week that "the opening of the East Hampton boutique marks Gucci's return to the Hamptons in a permanent capacity."

The two-story, 2,000-square-foot store will offer a wide range of women's and men's clothing, shoes, handbags, luggage, jewelry, and beauty and design items. "In keeping with the elegant and contemporary eclecticism that characterizes Gucci's collections, the store sees the combination of traditional and modern, industrial and romantic," accord-ing to the announcement.

A line of handbags and totes designed to reflect the East Hampton aesthetic will be sold exclusively at the Newtown Lane shop.
