Springs Board Focuses on Administrative Search

Thu, 11/16/2023 - 10:59

The Springs School Board canceled a public work session that was to be held Tuesday to put its search for a new superintendent “on fast forward,” the district superintendent, Debra Winter, said this week.

With school districts in Amagansett, Southampton, and Riverhead also now searching for top-level administrators, Ms. Winter said, “this is the priority right now” for the Springs board.

The workshop has not yet been rescheduled; according to the district website, the board’s next public session is a regular meeting planned for Nov. 28 at 7 p.m.

The district is seeking a “leader that appreciates our diversity and champions our mission of academic rigor and character development,” according to the job posting, which can be viewed in full online at olasjobs.org. The application period closes tomorrow.
