Slow Food Benefit
Taste the Two Forks, a benefit for Slow Food East End, will give diners two options to eat well for a cause.
The chef-owner Jason Weiner of Almond in Bridgehampton will offer a cocktail reception with passed hors d’oeuvres and three courses served family style, each paired with wines from Channing Daughters Winery, next Thursday starting at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $95, $90 for Slow Food East End members.
Noah Schwartz, the chef-owner of Noah’s in Greenport, will create a four-course meal with wine pairings from Macari Vineyards and Bedell Cellars. A reception will kick off the evening on Friday, Nov. 15, at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $105, $100 for members.
Both chefs are renowned on the East End for their local sourcing and seasonal menus, and both have earned the Slow Food Snail of Approval in recognition of their work.

Thanksgiving to Go
The Cookery in East Hampton is now accepting orders for Thanksgiving. The main dishes are brined organic farm turkey, slow-roasted smoked honey and spiced ham, and a vegetable, ricotta, and fresh mozzarella lasagna.
Sides include two kinds of stuffing, roasted seasonal vegetables, mashed potato casserole, roasted sweet potatoes, gravy, cranberry chutney, and buttermilk biscuits.
Dessert options are a deep-dish pumpkin and sweet potato pie, pumpkin almond butter loaf, and a pecan, chocolate, and mocha tart topped with brittle.
Orders must be placed by 2 p.m. on Nov. 22. Pickup is on Nov. 27 or Nov. 28. Date and time can be selected when ordering from the menu on the website.
Loaves and Fishes has a huge menu for Turkey Day takeout. Main dishes include a roasted or oven-ready all-natural turkey, baked boneless honey ham, grilled citrus salmon, crab cakes, and shrimp and swordfish curry.
Appetizers include gravlax on endive, deviled eggs, and mini lobster rolls, and among the many sides are two kinds of stuffing, roasted brussels sprouts, candied sweet potatoes, turkey gravy, and mashed potatoes. Five soups and 12 desserts round out the menu.

Take Out or Dine Out
The 1770 House in East Hampton invites diners to order a holiday feast to go or to dine at the restaurant for Thanksgiving. The takeout meal, which serves six to eight, costs $500. The only item that needs to be cooked is a 15-pound organic Amish turkey, which has been trussed with herbs and the house spice blend. Instructions and a meat thermometer are included.
The cooked and prepared sides include gravy, dinner rolls, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, and green beans. The dessert choices are sticky date cake with hot toffee sauce or a dark chocolate and gingerbread tart. Optional extras are lobster bisque or shrimp cocktail.
Orders can be placed by calling 631-324-1770 by Nov. 23 for pickup Nov. 27 from 2 to 3:30 p.m.
The restaurant will be open from 2 to 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, serving a three-course prix fixe menu priced at $135 plus beverage, tax, and gratuity.
Among the first courses are fluke tartare, scallop crudo, lobster bisque, and seared Hudson Valley foie gras. Main courses are an organic Amish turkey, Scottish salmon, braised rabbit leg, and braised Berkshire pork cheeks. Dessert options are apple cobbler, pumpkin cheesecake, sticky date cake, and dark chocolate and gingerbread tart.
New From La Fondita
La Fondita in Amagansett now has frozen items for pickup. All come with reheating instructions and can be stored in the freezer until a later date. The available items are chicken enchiladas with salsa verde, pozole verde de pollo, sopa de tortilla, tamal de puerco en salsa roja, tamal de pollo en salsa verde, tamal de rajas con queso and fiesta dip.
