The police departments and school districts in Southampton Town will be joining forces to collect nonperishable food items for East End food banks from Nov. 1 to Nov. 20.

Students and community members can drop off food items at donation boxes provided at schools in the town's 12 districts, including Sag Harbor, Bridgehampton, and Southampton. The public can make donations at the police departments in Southampton Town and Village, Sag Harbor Village, Westhampton Beach, and Quogue Village.

"Together we can assist the less fortunate children and families of our community," the police departments and school districts said in a statement.
