The United States Postal Service has announced plans to remove a mailbox from the Bridgehampton Commons, in front of the King Kullen grocery store.

"The volume collected from this collection box is no longer significant enough at this location to warrant keeping [one] there," the Postal Service said in a notice placed on the mailbox and tacked up at post offices regionally.

The Postal Service will relocate the box on April 1 to the shopping plaza at 801 County Road 39 in Southampton. Those with questions have been directed to inquire with the Southampton Post Office at 123 North Sea Road.

According to the Postal Service website, there is still a nearby collection box at an office building located at 2302 Montauk Highway in Bridgehampton, and one in front of the main post office at 2322 Main Street.
