The Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreational Center held its first in-person fund-raiser of the year on Saturday, with children and families turning out to help those who use the center's services.

A car wash dubbed CARe Wash raised more than $25,000. Teams of car-washers signed up in advance for various time slots so that Covid-19 safety protocols could be followed. Boxes of produce, cheeses, and flowers were given out, and many businesses sponsored the car wash by buying banners that will be hung up on the fence at the center.

"It was so good to have so many new faces see our campus and learn about the work being done," Bonnie Michelle Cannon, the executive director, said in a statement. "We feel blessed that our community continues to come together to show that they care for the center's kids and families."
