Max Philip Dobler

The Friends of the Long Pond Greenbelt will be taking a full frost moon hike through the field behind the South Fork Natural History Museum on Wednesday at 5:20 p.m.

The frost moon is also known as the beaver moon because Native Americans set beaver traps at this time, before the swamps froze.

Dai Dayton, the group's president, will lead this hourlong, all-ages hike. Registration is by emailing greenbeltnews@aol.com.
