The Wainscott Sewing Society's annual rummage sale is to take place on Aug. 20 at 9 a.m. at the Wainscott Chapel on Main Street.

Ahead of the sale, the society is accepting donations of household items in good condition to resell as a fund-raiser for the installation of new plumbing at the more-than-150-year-old chapel. Donations -- excluding large furniture because there's really no space for that sort of thing, The Star has been told -- can be dropped off at the chapel on Friday, Aug. 19.

For those who can't drop off their donations that day, alternative arrangements can be made by phoning 631-537-1330.
