East Hampton Town has put out a reminder for residents and business owners to document and describe any damage they incurred as a result of this week's storms.

"The information will be used to help officials evaluate potential eligibility for federal storm-related assistance programs," the town said in an announcement.

The link for the online New York State self-assessment form is bit.ly/41sONfP.

The form advises that people call 911 for any life-threatening issues, and cautions that "reporting damage is a voluntary activity and is not a substitute for reporting damage to your insurance agency, nor does it guarantee disaster relief assistance."
