Melissa Bank, who taught in the M.F.A. program in creative writing and literature at Stony Brook Southampton, died of lung cancer at home in East Hampton on Aug. 2. The author of books including the popular “The Girls’ Guide to Hunting and Fishing,” she was 61. An obituary will appear in a future issue.
