Amagansett A white 1975 Schwinn 10-speed bicycle was taken from the front yard of a Beech Avenue house Friday evening between 7 and 8. John Kirschenfeld told police he had leaned it against a Dumpster in the front yard, and suggested that a passer-by might have thought it was garbage. A lifeguard stand at Atlantic Avenue Beach was vandalized overnight, June 1. It had been pushed over and three support planks were broken. The Parks Department was notified. A vandal destroyed an exterior light fixture at an Alexis Court house sometime between May 31 and June 2. Sydney Jones estimated the cost to repair the damage at almost $2,000. East Hampton Lawrence Epstein of Ruffled Grouse Court heard a bang on a bedroom window on May 15 and thought a bird had flown into it, breaking an outer glass pane. On May 31, however, when he opened the window, he discovered a BB gun pellet imbedded in the glass. It will cost about $200 to repair, he told police. A dispute between a tenant of a Fieldview Lane house and a real estate agent showing the property resulted last week in mutual complaints to the police. Janette Goodstein said she had brought a client to see the house, and was admitted by the tenant’s son. The boy’s mother then “got in her face, began yelling to exit the property, pushed her in the back, then slammed the front door” behind her, according to the police report. The tenant, who was not identified, told police Friday that she has an agreement with the landlord that she is to be given notice before an agent shows the house; she claimed Ms. Goodstein had not done that. The four-bedroom house is on the market for just under $1.4 million. East Hampton Village Dell Cullum of Hampton Wildlife Removal and Rescue was called in to rescue a baby possum on King Street Saturday morning. The animal had found its way into a bag of dog food and couldn’t get out, police said, adding that Mr. Cullum “removed the possum to a safe location.” A Loveland, Ohio, man received a summons on Main Beach Saturday evening for building a fire “not contained in a metal container.” He put the fire out as police wrote him up. A Woods Lane woman called police Sunday, complaining that a man and his family, to whom she had offered temporary shelter, were refusing to move on. She said she had allowed the man, “along with his wife, child, and mother-in-law to stay at her residence for the last month while he looked for a new apartment.” She said she is not charging him rent. Police told her the dispute was a civil matter, and that she needed to go to “the local civil court.” A TriBeCa resident was written up outside John Marshall Elementary School Sunday afternoon for launching “large scale model rockets without a permit.” A 37-year-old Manhattan woman called police Sunday afternoon, saying she had lost her cellphone in Herrick Park. “She believed she may have thrown it in a garbage can,” the report reads. An officer found the phone, which will be returned to its owner. Montauk One night last week a Scarsdale, N.Y., man ran into the Montauk 7-Eleven a little after midnight, leaving his 1999 GMC minivan in the parking lot. When he returned five minutes later, the van was gone. Police canvassed the neighborhood and found the van parked on Upland Road. Joseph Russo checked inside and told police that nothing had been stolen. The caretaker of an Upland Road house went to the station house in downtown Montauk Friday afternoon, complaining that a neighbor was trespassing onto the property. Antonio Leicht told police the neighbor had been reported previously for illegally cutting down trees on the property. Police contacted the owner, Valerie Zandoli, who said she would not press charges but wanted the incident put on record. A boat dry-docked at Montauk Marine Basin was vandalized during the off-season, according to its owner, Anthony Mazzoli of Patchogue. He told police someone had boarded the Hi Sea, drained its Cummins engine, and replaced the fuel with water. He estimated repair costs at $5,000. An Apple iPad Air2 belonging to a Washington, D.C., teen visiting his mother in Montauk was stolen from a 2014 Honda minivan, where he had left it, between May 29 and June 1. The serial number of the black iPad is DMPP637VFK11; it is black, as is its Gumdrop case. The value of the iPad and case was placed at $570. Sag Harbor Police received a call from Schiavoni’s Market Friday morning, reporting that a man with “light-colored hair and a light-colored jacket” had poured himself a cup of iced coffee and left the store through the back entrance without paying. Surveillance video showed the man walking down Meadow Street toward Spring Street. An officer checked the area and found the man, who said he would return to the store to pay for the coffee. Matt Schiavoni told police he would not press charges but did not want the man to return to the market. A red mountain bike and an iPhone 5 disappeared from the Pierson High School yard at about 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Michael De Nardo estimated the loss at about $900. Springs Vandals destroyed a mailbox outside a house on Old Fireplace Road in the early morning hours of June 1. Gayle Jackson told police she had heard a bang during the night, but thought it was thunder. The $50 mailbox was almost flattened.
