Thu, 05/23/2019 - 06:33

Antonio A. Cabrera, 32, of East Hampton was arrested last month, accused of running a skateboarder off the road on purpose. According to police, Mr. Cabrera was driving a 2016 Ford on Cove Hollow Road, near Buckskill Road, in East Hampton on July 24 when he crossed over the double yellow line in the direction of a skateboarder, who was on the shoulder. The skateboarder was not named.

According to the police report, Mr. Cabrera then turned his car around and drove at a high rate of speed, crossing over the shoulder and off the road, forcing the skateboarder to jump off his skateboard and take cover behind a tree in order to avoid being struck and seriously injured.

Mr. Cabrera was charged with reckless driving and reckless endangerment in the second degree, both misdemeanors.

Justice Tekulsky arraigned, him and he was released on $1,000 bail.
