Hansen Newest Village Officer

Thu, 05/23/2019 - 07:11

Chief Gerard Larsen of the East Hampton Village police introduced the newest member of the department to the village board on Friday.  David Hansen, a lifelong resident, had graduated from the police academy three days earlier, Chief Larsen told the board. Mr. Hansen’s parents were on hand as Mayor Paul F. Rickenbach Jr. and the board welcomed him.

Richard Lawler of the board, who is also the police commissioner, told those in attendance that as it was National Police Week, it was “a good time for us all to reflect on what a tough job our law enforcement officers do in protecting our neighborhoods.”

On behalf of the mayor, the board, and residents of the village, “I want to extend our thanks to you, chief, for the terrific job that you do, and for the terrific job the men and women of your department do on a daily basis,” Mr. Lawler said.
