Amagansett

A Merrils Road woman using the online selling service Wallop.com told police she was out two Michael Kors watches, after shipping them last month to a would-be buyer. MaryAnne Janetschek valued the watches at $950 together. The person had told her that payment was on its way via MoneyGram, she told police. Ms. Janetschek shipped the watches, but never received payment, and later learned that the thief did not have a MoneyGram account.

East Hampton

An officer who was at East Hampton High School on Jan. 4, when students returned from the holiday break, was told by school officials about a fight that morning outside the school’s cafeteria. Two students were taken to the nurse’s office to have their injuries assessed. No legal action will be taken, police said, but school discipline and suspensions “are currently in effect.”

East Hampton Village

A black and gray Apple iPad came flying off the roof of a car driving down Main Street, near the pond, Friday night. A Springs man turned it over to police.

Montauk

The guardrail on the north side of Carl Fisher Plaza was damaged by an unknown vehicle early on the morning of Jan. 18. Police said it appeared the vehicle slid in the new snow that morning and crashed through the rail.

Springs

A Harrison Avenue woman called police after several bags of infant formula were removed from her property. Kathleen Rucano gave police the name of the person who took the bags, telling them she did not want to press charges, she just wanted the formula returned. It was, and Ms. Rucano and the other individual, whom police did not identify, were advised to have no further contact with each other.
