There are no leads in the case, as Mr. Sanders was unable to see the sedan’s license plate from where he was standing. According to police, one man punched the other in the back of the head then attempted to pull off the alleged victim’s sweatshirt, ripping it. The men were separated. Sag HarborA Main Street resident phoned police at 5:42 a.m. on May 9 after being awakened by yelling coming from outside her windows. According to police, a Sag Harbor Village Department of Public Works crew had loudly expressed their displeasure at a driver who, apparently unaware, steered over a set of freshly repainted lines on the pavement.Sag Harbor police said officers arrested five people last week for not having valid motor vehicle registrations. A license plate reader device mounted on a patrol car identified three of the vehicles with suspended registrations. Two of the drivers arrested were in cars for which insurance policies had lapsed, resulting in the registration suspensions. WainscottPolice and firefighters were called to the soon-to-be Il Mulino restaurant on the corner of Wainscott Stone Road and Montauk Highway on Tuesday afternoon after a report of a Dumpster fire. The blaze was quickly extinguished.
