East Hampton

The men’s room by the cafeteria at East Hampton High School on Long Lane was the target of a vandal last Thursday. Adam Fine, the school’s principal, told police that at about noon someone slammed “a blunt instrument” at the toilet in the handicapped-access stall, damaging its right side.

East Hampton Village

The swimming pool at a house on Sherrill Road was being drained into the street by a Wainscott pool company a little after noon on Dec. 16. Police issued a company employee a summons for violating the village code.

Police were called to an Egypt Lane house because of a gas leak on Saturday. Police helped the Fire Department vent the house until a gas company worker could get there.

Montauk

Someone using black spray paint scrawled graffiti on a brick wall at the Tower apartment building downtown during the overnight hours on Dec. 16.

Springs

A 2005 Nissan Ultima parked outside a house on Richardson Avenue was broken into early Friday morning. Kerri Hammer told police she heard the car alarm sound at about 4 a.m. and then stop. Later that morning she found that the driver’s-side window was open a few inches and that someone had apparently used a branch to reach in and unlock the door. Missing from the car was a metal box with some personal documents.

“Unwanted guests” were trying to take his belongings and refusing to leave, a Brandywine Drive, Sag Harbor, resident reported to 911 last Thursday, adding that one of them wouldn’t wake up and “may have overdosed.”
