Through Hedges, Into a Nissan

Thu, 05/23/2019 - 07:12

An East Hampton woman, Emma J. Pittman, 30, became the first person arrested by Sag Harbor Village police in 2016. She reportedly crashed a southbound 2006 Range Rover through some hedges at 208 Hampton Street and into a Nissan parked in a driveway next door. The incident occurred about two hours into the new year.

Charged with drunken driving, Ms. Pittman refused to cooperate, police said, declining to take a roadside breath test and the one normally administered at police headquarters.

She was released later on New Year’s Day without having to post bail but with a future date on Sag Harbor Village Justice Lisa R. Rana’s calendar.
