East Hampton
An E-Z Pass was stolen from a mailbox on Miller Lane West sometime between Nov. 8 and Nov. 10. Aquin K. Medler found his mail on the ground by his mailbox and the E-Z Pass tag missing from the envelope in which it came.
Stephen Perry arrived home on Cooper Lane on Oct. 22 to find the cover of his Jeep Wrangler gone. He told police the $300 cover had been lying on the ground near the Jeep, attached to the passenger door handle with a cable lock; which had been cut off. He filed a report on Oct. 26.
East Hampton Village
On Nov. 4 at about 12:30 a.m., officers assisted an East Hampton man in getting his 2017 Chevrolet Silverado off Wiborg’s Beach. The pickup truck was stuck on the beach close to the water line. After helping him, they ticketed him for driving on the beach without a permit.
A 50-year-old East Hampton woman threatened to spray a man with Mace during an argument on Georgica Beach at about 5:50 a.m. on Nov. 4. The 36-year-old man told police he was driving on the beach when the woman’s dog followed him. She approached his truck and yelled at him for going too fast. When he began surfcasting, she approached him again. When they began yelling at each other, she made the threat, he said. He left the beach and called police. An officer spoke to the woman, who said the man had been the aggressor. Police advised her to call for an officer in the future if she felt threatened.
Police received a report of a man wearing a gray sweatshirt and gray sweatpants who was seen tossing a black bag into the woods off Newtown Lane at about 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 5. An officer located the 21-year-old man, who reportedly smelled of marijuana and admitted to smoking some, and said he was on his way to get something to eat. An officer searched him and the area, but found nothing.
An 85-year-old woman called police Nov. 5 after receiving a possible scam phone call. She did not give the caller any personal or credit card information, but wanted the incident on record. She was advised to check with her bank just in case.
A white vase with a floral design, about 12 inches high and worth between $5,000 and $10,000, was stolen from the lobby at the 1770 House on Main Street on Nov. 5, sometime between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. It was reported stolen at 9:40 p.m. Detectives are investigating.
A brown pit bull wearing a red collar reportedly attacked a deer on Spaeth Lane at about 4:25 p.m. on Nov. 6. Police searched the area for the dog and an injured deer, but found nothing.
When a woman’s dog barked last Thursday evening as if someone were on her Pantigo Road property, she called out “Hello?” A man’s voice responded, “Hello.” She phoned 911. An officer searched the property but found no one.
A resident of West End Road told police Friday afternoon that he was unhappy that a duck blind had been placed near the edge of his property. Police suggested he contact the East Hampton Town Trustees’ office.
Sag Harbor
An oven and a microwave were reported missing from a house on Hampton Street Friday. Javier Hernandez, who works for Dakota Property Management, went to police.
On Election Day, a disgruntled voter was reported at the polling place at Pierson High School. A security guard told police the man became angry when told he had to go to the east side entrance to enter the gym to vote. The man reportedly called the guard “a sick black man.” The guard wanted the incident documented.
Springs
Jonathan B. Rondon, who lives in Whitestone and keeps his boat at Gardiner’s Marina on Three Mile Harbor-Hog Creek Road, reported damage to the 36-foot Fountaine sailboat on Nov. 2. He said he was informed that someone had disconnected the shroud line, which holds up the mast, causing it to fall to one side and damage the fiberglass deck below. He told police the boat’s alarm had gone off on Nov. 1 between 3 and 4 a.m., and believes that was when the damage occurred.
