Police Issue Citations to the Springs Tavern

East Hampton Town police charged the manager of the Springs Tavern on Saturday with two misdemeanors, saying he had someone working as security, checking identifications, despite not having the proper license, and that alcoholic beverages were not properly stored.   

Police said Donovan A. McGregor of Mastic, 44, knowingly employed Nikolas Ross, 24, who was not properly licensed and registered with New York State as a security guard. Officers checking the premises also found “wrongfully” stored alcoholic beverages in a detached refrigerated storage container.     

Mr. McGregor was charged with two misdemeanors at about midnight and released on an appearance ticket. Mr. Ross, who lives in Riverhead, was charged with one misdemeanor for not having a valid registration card as a security guard, and also released. Both will appear in East Hampton Town Justice Court today for arraignment.
