Thu, 08/11/2022 - 11:02

Christopher Duda, 50, was slowly backing his car out of the driveway at 57 Cedar Street on Saturday morning when a bicyclist riding on the sidewalk struck the front passenger side of his vehicle, he told police.

The cyclist, Mitchell Hallock, 21, of East Hampton had minor injuries, according to police, and was transported to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital for evaluation.

Mr. Duda had three passengers in the car, none of whom were injured, but the car did sustain damage.

Correction: The original version of this article contained two errors. Mr. Hallock, the bicyclist, is 21, not 18 as originally reported. In addition, according to the police report, it was the bicyclist that hit the vehicle. The original article incorrectly said that the vehicle had backed into the bicyclist.
