Wed, 08/17/2022 - 18:01

Jacob Beyer, 31, of East Hampton was charged with felony driving while intoxicated on Friday at about 2 a.m. Police said they stopped his 2022 Chevrolet on Abraham’s Path near Town Lane in Amagansett, after it crossed a double yellow line, and checked his record to discover that he had been convicted of D.W.I. in East Hampton in 2015. Back at headquarters, he declined to submit to a blood-alcohol test. Refusal of the breathalyzer test results in an automatic license suspension.

Daniel Thomas Brophy, 26, of Pearl River, N.Y., was pulled over in a Montauk parking lot at 3:16 a.m. on Saturday after his 2004 Ford pickup hit another vehicle in the lot, on Montauk Highway near South Elder Street. Mr. Brophy exhibited signs of intoxication, according to East Hampton Town police, and was charged with misdemeanor drunken driving, a first offense.

On Aug. 9 at 12:20 a.m., Thomas C. Jacobs, 51, of East Hampton was clocked at 55 miles per hour in a 40 m.p.h. zone on Three Mile Harbor Road near Morris Park Lane in East Hampton. Town police, who said his eastbound 2013 Toyota had veered into the shoulder, stopped him. He reportedly failed the roadside sobriety tests and was charged with first-offense D.W.I., a misdemeanor.

Christopher M. Gonzalez of Montauk was eastbound on South Euclid Avenue near South Edgemere Street in Montauk early on the morning of Aug. 9 when, police said, he not only drove in and out of his lane but had no taillights on his white 2019 Honda. He was charged with first-offense D.W.I. after reportedly failing the field breath tests.

Juliana L. Lilien, 56, of East Hampton, was driving in Springs at around 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 9 when her gray 2005 Audi left the road and hit a retaining wall, a basketball hoop, and a mailbox at a house on Guernsey Lane. The Audi sustained significant damage. A trail of fluid from the accident led police to the vehicle, which Ms. Lilien had driven back to her nearby home. Charged with first-offense D.W.I., she was taken to headquarters to await a morning arraignment. She was asked several times but did not consent to take the breathalyzer test.

Lila Cecile Ferraro, 21, of New York City, was observed early on the morning of Aug. 8, driving on the shoulder, then crossing a double yellow line, and failing to yield the right of way to oncoming traffic on Abraham’s Path in East Hampton. Police, who stopped her white 2013 Jeep Wrangler as it was northbound on Springs-Fireplace Road, said she performed poorly on the standard sobriety tests, and charged her with first-offense D.W.I., a misdemeanor.

Edwin X. Llapapintado, 28, of Flanders, was found passed out in a 2009 Ford at around 2 a.m. on Aug. 8, on Three Mile Harbor-Hog Creek Road near Boat Yard Lane in Springs. He allegedly had his foot on the brake, police said, with the engine running, and was found holding a half-empty glass bottle of Corona. He too was charged with first-offense misdemeanor D.W.I.

Freddy Gonzalo Coraisaca-Carchi 31, of Hampton Bays was southbound on Springs-Fireplace Road near North Main Street, East Hampton, at about 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 7 when, according to town police, his gray 2007 Ford Escape crossed a double yellow line while tailgating a marked police vehicle. He too faces a charge of drunken driving, a first-offense misdemeanor.

Late that night, Jhon Freddy Vivancoreyes, 26, of East Hampton was driving a 2013 Hyundai south on Spring Close Highway in East Hampton when officers observed him “failing to keep right, failing to stay in his lane, using an improper signal, and driving too slow.” Charged with first-offense drunken driving, he was held overnight for a morning arraignment in East Hampton Town Justice Court.
