An East Quogue man turned himself in to the East Hampton Village Police Department on Jan. 31 after allegedly violating a court-issued order of protection.

Charged with one felony count of criminal contempt, as well as a misdemeanor charge of aggravated harassment and multiple counts of misdemeanor criminal contempt, Matthew W. Scott, 39, was arraigned last Thursday by East Hampton Town Justice David Filer, and was remanded to police custody in lieu of posting $70,000 cash bail.

Police did not release the specific details of the inciting incident, but indicated in their report that it was connected to three incidents that occurred between Jan. 28 and Jan. 31 at a house on Church Street.

Mr. Scott is due back in court next Thursday.
