Thu, 10/10/2024 - 08:53

East Hampton’s football team, after sailing along at 20-7 going into the fourth quarter of Saturday night’s game at Islip, wound up losing as the home team’s quarterback, Brady Nash, ran for three touchdowns in the final period, thus sending the stunned Bonackers home on the short end of a 28-20 score.

Theo Ball, Bonac’s quarterback, threw for two touchdowns, to Charlie Stern and James Corwin, and a 14-yard Alex Davis run accounted for another.

The win improved the Buccaneers to 3-1, and dropped East Hampton to 2-2. The Bonackers are to play 1-3 Westhampton Beach here this afternoon at 3.

East Hampton’s boys and girls cross-country teams each lost 25-31 at Rocky Point on Oct. 1. The League VI title was at stake that day for the girls.
