I-Tri, the South Fork-based girls’ empowerment program, will host its annual Ride and Wine cycling fund-raiser on Oct. 5, with a new route and a new spot for its afterparty.

The event offers two options for all biking skill levels, and a third for people who don’t bike at all. Participants can undertake the full ride, spanning a scenic 34 miles from Scoville Hall in Amagansett to the Montauk Lighthouse via Bluff Road and Montauk Highway. There is also a shorter ride from Scoville Hall through Napeague to Promised Land and back, which is 13 miles. Finally, non-bikers are invited to join participants at a lunch and wine tasting catered by Damark’s Market, also at Scoville Hall.

Cyclists doing the longer ride will set out at 10:30 a.m.; those riding the 13-mile route will leave at 11:30. The lunch and wine tasting begin at 12:30.

The cost for the ride and the lunch is $186.50; lunch alone costs $160. I-Tri will also offer sponsorship opportunities for riders. Sponsorship, registration, and other information can be found at runsignup.com/Race/NY/Amagansett/RideWine.

I-Tri trains middle-school-age girls for a youth triathlon, while placing an emphasis on self-esteem and healthy decision-making. Originally serving only eight girls at the East Hampton Middle School, I-Tri has grown to work with over 1,200 girls across 13 different school districts.
