B. Vintage, run by Linda Buckley and Cristina Buckley, a Springs mother-daughter team, is set to open tomorrow at 79 Main Street in East Hampton. It is the first business in the Anchor Society’s Winter Shops program, an off-season initiative that aims to fill otherwise empty storefronts.

Election Day is Tuesday and regular polling stations will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., but those who want to cast their ballots early have until Sunday to do so at any Suffolk County early voting site, including one in East Hampton and one in Southampton.

In a special election, East Hampton Town Councilman Ian Calder-Piedmonte, who was appointed in January to fill the town board seat vacated when Kathee Burke-Gonzalez was sworn in as town supervisor, is running to keep the seat for the remaining year of Ms. Burke-Gonzalez’s term.

A good number of East Hampton High's players were in tears following Saturday's 2-1 first-round county Class AA boys soccer playoff loss to Deer Park, the 10th seed among the bracket's 11 teams. East Hampton was the seventh.

A day at the beach just got a little cleaner in Montauk. Last week, the installation of two new I/A (innovative alternative) low-nitrogen septic systems began at the Gin Beach and South Edison Beach comfort stations. Work is expected to be completed by Friday.
