East Hampton Town Police have asked for the public's help in locating a missing 61-year-old woman, last seen at 6:40 p.m. Tuesday at her family's home on Manor Lane in Springs. 

The East Hampton Town Board voted Tuesday to end its relationship with R2 Architecture, the joint venture it had chosen in 2022 to design a new senior citizens center on Abraham’s Path in Amagansett, and said it would re-evaluate its plans for the facility.

Dangerous surf, rip currents, and the potential for dune erosion from Hurricane Erin are anticipated here, with the most significant impacts expected on Thursday and Friday, East Hampton Town Supervisor Kathee Burke-Gonzlez said on Tuesday. 

A $2.2 million forest management contract for Napeague and Hither Hills State Parks, where the invasive southern pine beetle has killed thousands of trees and sparked concern about wildfires, will focus on areas adjacent to Montauk Highway and nearby residences and trails while creating additional access for fire departments to help reduce the risk to human life or property in the event of a wildfire, the governor said during a visit to Montauk Friday.

An East Hampton High School student was killed and several other people were injured in a car accident on Sunday evening on Old Stone Highway in Springs. 

Michael Khodorkovskiy, who pleaded guilty in April to criminal sale of a controlled substance in the second degree, a class A-II felony, for distributing cocaine in East Hampton Town and elsewhere in Suffolk County, was sentenced on Thursday to 10 years in prison followed by five years of post-release supervision.

After an extensive search by East Hampton Town police drones, a Suffolk County police helicopter, and Southampton Town and Suffolk County K-9 units that began Friday evening, a missing 88-year-old East Hampton man was found Saturday afternoon by a town police sergeant operating a drone. 

As school districts across the East End tallied budget and school board votes Tuesday night, all eyes were on Montauk, where a $38.41 million renovation bond ended up failing by just 43 votes, with a record number of people weighing in. 

A serious accident in East Hampton Village during the morning commute on Monday resulted in Main Street being closed to traffic near Mill Road for several hours as investigators worked to determine exactly what happened.

Bridgehampton High School’s boys basketball team went into Friday’s state Class D semifinal with perhaps more confidence than it should have, for Loudonville Christian proved to be a formidable foe, overcoming seemingly comfortable Bee leads on several occasions before yielding in the end, 63-53.
