East Hampton Town police are canvassing downtown Montauk after new antisemitic graffiti was discovered Saturday morning on the side of Bounce Beach Montauk on South Emerson Street. 

An East Hampton Town Police dispatcher confirmed Monday morning that officers are on scene in Montauk investigating multiple incidents of antisemitic hate-crime vandalism.

Mark Ripolone, formerly of Montauk, took a plea deal Tuesday in New York State Supreme Court, admitting to stealing close to $400,000 from clients over three years.

The East Hampton Town Police Department has given the all-clear signal at the Amagansett School after a bomb threat was received by email just before 9 a.m. Wednesday. The school — where the day's classes were just beginning — was immediately evacuated, police said in a release.

Ron White, the former president of the Bridgehampton School Board who also served as the varsity boys basketball head coach for six years, is stepping down from the board, according to a meeting agenda put out by the school on Wednesday afternoon.

Just in time for HarborFest, the so-called "gas ball lot," where the globe once sat, but which has since become a 93-space parking lot of importance, will remain open after the village and Adam Potter, the developer who is to gain control of the lot on Saturday, came to an agreement Thursday evening.

East Hampton Town closed its beaches to swimming midday on Wednesday due to dangerous surf conditions.

In recent weeks a deadly bacterium found in warm seawater and in raw seafood has killed at least three people in New York and Connecticut, including a Brookhaven Town resident, and sickened at least one resident of East Hampton Town.

In a split 5-to-2 vote on Thursday, the Public Service Commission awarded the roughly 100-space parking area known as the gas ball lot, which the village has leased from KeySpan Energy since 2016, to Adam Potter's 11 Bridge Street LLC. The transfer of control will happen in December.

Carl Irace, a lawyer and village resident, won 327 votes to beat out East Hampton Town Justice Steven Tekulsky, who ended with 141 votes, for a four-year term as Sag Harbor Village Justice. Mr. Irace will replace Lisa Rana, who is retiring.
