A Whiskey Margarita
Thursday is St. Patrick's Day and K Pasa is celebrating with a an Irish whiskey margarita uniting the orange with the green. It is made with Jameson Orange, Naranja orange liqueur, lime juice, and agave syrup and will be served all day.
Wednesday Re-Wined
Wine Wednesday Workshops hosted by Chimene Visser Macnaughton will return this week for eight certification-level flights at Rowdy Hall in East Hampton. The workshops are presented collaboratively with Wainscott Main Wine and Spirits, where they were first introduced by Ms. Macnaughton. She is now the beverage director for Honest Man Hospitality, which owns Rowdy Hall, Nick and Toni's, La Fondita, Coche Comedor, and Townline BBQ.
Workshops will be accompanied by light snacks and will each have a different presenter and theme, beginning with Back to School Night! + An Industry Love Story with Jen Lucia, who is director of sales, Skurnik Wines, and James Pellingra, the general manager of Baytowne Wine and Spirits in Rochester.
The themes of future workshops will include supply chain challenges, personal histories, champagne, the role of importers, a sales rep's personal selections, and cellar diving at the American Hotel. The series will end with a 2021 rose preview.
Individual classes are $25 reserved and $30 at the door. The cost for the series is $200 and comes with a $25 Honest Man gift card good at any of the group's restaurants. Reservations can be made on Eventbrite.
Artists, Writers Back
Almond's Artists and Writers dinners will return on March 28 with Nanette Carter, an abstract collage artist.
Ms. Carter, who has exhibited her work since the 1970s, explores themes of social justice, contemporary life, and the drama of nature. She has shaped Mylar as a support for various mediums since 1997. The works evoke the history of abstract art and the African-American abstract art tradition. Alvin Loving Jr. was a mentor.
The three-course family-style dinner starts at 7 and costs $49. It includes one glass of wine or draft beer, but tax and tip are extra. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 631-537-5665.
Irish and Ukranian
On Thursday, Main Prospect in Southampton is offering St. Patrick's Day food specials such as bangers and mash, corned beef and cabbage, and shepherd's pie. Drinks specials include Jameson shots, Guinness stout ale, or Magners Cider for $5 and $8.
The restaurant has added several Ukrainian-style dishes to its regular menu to support the feeding of those in that country through World Central Kitchen. All profits from purchases of perogies, beet soup, stuffed cabbage, potato pancakes, and chicken Kyiv will go directly to World Central Kitchen, the nonprofit organization founded by chef Jose Andres to provide meals to those devastated by disaster.
Serving the Circle
The Montauk Circle is serving lunch and dinner these days, with themed nights such as Taco 'n' Margarita Tuesdays with six fish or vegetable tacos and a pitcher of house margaritas for $50. Wednesday is Rock 'n' Bingo night with bottomless chili and cornbread for $10 and a surf and turf feast is offered on Thursdays. There is live music, too, on Fridays and Saturdays. The restaurant is at 99 Carl Fisher Plaza.
Bostwick's Is Coming
Bostwick's Chowder House announced this week that it will reopen on March 31. The spring hours will be from Thursday through Sunday, beginning at 11:30 a.m. Takeout orders can be placed on the restaurant's website.
