Carissa's Open
Carissa's Bakery in East Hampton has opened both its Pantigo Road and Newtown Lane sites this week. The bakery is featuring a new Balsam Farms grain loaf with local wheat, corn, rye, and oats from the farm, milled in house. A porridge nut bread is made with a savory custom porridge blend with roasted almonds, bread flour, sea salt, and a leavening agent that dates back to Amagansett in 1965.

For Ukraine, the kitchen is serving vegetarian borscht and grilled cheese. The sales from the special will benefit World Central Kitchen, which is feeding people affected by the war.

Spring Cleaning
Registration is open for Tapovana's spring cleanse, which will take place from April 4 to April 9 this year.

Designed as a reset for body and mind, the six-day Ayurvedic program is intended to detoxify and strengthen against illness and depression using mindfulness and nutrition together. The cost for meals is $380 for delivery and $330 for pickup at the Bridgehampton Community House. Registration is through a Venmo payment to @TapovanaLunchBox.

Tapovana also continues to serve South Indian lunch boxes in Bridgehampton on Mondays through Saturdays from noon to 2 p.m. The set meal boxes, with daily menus listed on its website, are $15. Homemade drinks and sides are extra. A recent menu included a dosa, masala potatoes with cashews, and drumstick sambar.
