The Bridgehampton Inn is offering romantic overnight stays with dinner and breakfast to celebrate the month of love.

Mixing It Up in Gansett
Amagansett's Amber Waves is shaking up the winter doldrums with a couple of events for food and wine lovers. First off is Thursday evening's herbal salt making workshop. Participants can create their own herbal salt mixes using Amber Waves's dried herbs and two varieties of salt. In addition to adding some excitement to ordinary home-cooked meals, the blends make great gifts. The cost is $50 per person and the workshop will take place inside the market.

Next Thursday, the market will host a natural wine and cheese pairing event. The evening will be hosted by Via Wohl from NatOutEast. She will explain what natural wines are and the different types, how they are made, and what regions are making some of the best. She will also have recommendations for local cheese pairings, which will be available to taste. Guests will each receive a taste of three wines and cheese and snacks matched with each tasting. The cost is $40.

Both events start at 6 p.m. and last until 7:30. Tickets can be purchased on the Amber Waves website. The proceeds help support the Amber Waves Farm apprenticeship program.

Wolffer on the Move
Wolffer Estate Vineyard is taking it on the road and popping up in Brooklyn on Sunday at Rule of Thirds in Greenpoint for a "walk-around tasting" of sake, cider, and wine from Wolffer and Brooklyn Kura, along with pairing plates provided by the host. Tastings will include Brooklyn Kura's #14 junmai ginjo and Occidental dry-hopped sake, plus Wolffer's No. 139 Oishii cider and No. 139 Brut Cuvee cider as well as its Antonov sauvignon blanc and Summer in a Bottle rose wines.

Roman Roth, the winemaker and a partner of Wolffer Estate Vineyard, and Brandon Doughan, the Brooklyn Kura head brewer and co-founder, will be on hand to introduce and discuss the beverages. The event starts at noon and the $50 tickets are available on the Wolffer website

Closer to home in Sagaponack, the Wolffer tasting room has two trivia nights coming up on Tuesday and Feb. 7. The events begin at 6:30 p.m. with happy hour specials starting at 5:30 p.m. of $12 glasses of Classic Red as well as Summer in a Bottle white and rose wines. Italian and estate flatbreads are $15. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased on the website.

Its Candlelight Fridays music series will host Jeff LeBlanc on Friday, Rumor Has It on Friday, Feb. 3, Certain Moves Duo on Feb. 10, and Paris Ray on Feb. 17. The musicians play from 4:30 to 7 p.m. in the tasting room.

Restaurant Week
Long Island Restaurant Week runs from Sunday through Feb. 5 at eateries across Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Three-course meals are offered at $27, $37, and $44 for dinner, and some restaurants also offer a $22 two-course lunch option. Those taking part close to home, with $44 dinner specials, include Union Sushi and Steak in Southampton, Calissa in Water Mill, LuLu Kitchen and Bar and Page at 63 Main in Sag Harbor, and Elaia Estiatorio, Topping Rose House, and the Bridgehampton Inn and Restaurant in Bridgehampton. Bamboo in Southampton will have a $27 dinner. The specials will be offered all night with the exception of Saturday, when they may only be offered until 7 p.m. A full and updated list of restaurants can be found at longislandrestaurantweek.com.

Month of Love
February begins next week and the "month of love" is being celebrated at the Bridgehampton Inn and Restaurant. The site is offering an overnight stay with a free breakfast and dinner for two plus a gift from Wednesday through Sunday. The package rates begin at $595 for weekend nights and $495 for weekdays. Reservations can be made at 631-537-3660.

Super Treats
The Super Bowl will be here before you know it, and it's time to start thinking about what to serve at your watch party or even to just the usual crowd or family. Smokin' Wolf BBQ has the snacks and even two pools to get you ready for the game.

The game-day menu features quesadillas, pigs in a blanket, a 50-piece bucket of wings, grilled Buffalo chicken salad, brisket or chicken chili, a shrimp cocktail platter, crudites, stuffed potato skins, guacamole, and sliders or nachos with choices or brisket, pork, or chicken. Cheeseburger sliders are also available. The market offers a free 12 pack of beer for every $125 spent.

Smokin' Wolf will be open on Feb. 12 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and it's never too early to get those orders in at 631-604-6470.
