East Hampton Village police arrested Deborah Jean Lyons of Brooklyn, 57, Saturday morning on a felony charge of driving under the influence of drugs following an accident. It was her second road-related arrest in two years.Ms. Lyons was driving a 2019 Mercedes-Benz that struck two other cars in the Reutershan lot behind Main Street at about 10:30 a.m. Police said the Mercedes, trying to get into a parking spot but ending up at an angle, backed out to try again and hit a parked 2012 Jeep, then pulled forward and struck a 2008 Chevrolet.Police found the woman sitting behind the wheel with the engine running. She appeared lethargic and had trouble speaking and keeping her head up, according to their report. Asked if she might be suffering from a medical condition, she replied that she was fine but had taken a prescription. Police did not release the name of the medication, but said Ms. Lyons admitted she probably should not have been driving. The Mercedes is registered to Alan S. Goudiss of East Hampton.Ms. Lyons was arrested at 10:55 a.m. Police checked her license and saw that it had been revoked on Nov. 16, 2017, following a conviction for driving while intoxicated. She was also required to have an Interlock device, which would check her blood-alcohol level, which was not present.She was charged with driving while impaired by drugs, in the second degree, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the first degree, both felonies, as well as driving without an Interlock device, a misdemeanor, and unlicensed driving, a violation. She was held for a Sunday-morning arraignment, Saturday’s court session having concluded. Justice Steven Tekulsky released her on Sunday on $2,500 bail. The Mercedes was impounded, under Suffolk County law.
